The victory is the second of Wie’s LPGA career and her first this season. Wie’s previous best finish in 2010 was third at the Tres Marias Championship.
Wie entered the final round tied with Shin at 10-under par. Wie took control of the tournament on the back nine where she carded three consecutive birdies. A birdie putt at 13 and a chip-in for birdie on 15 helped her to the three-stroke win.
“It feels awesome. It feels absolutely fantastic,” said Wie. “It’s been a long time since November, and it feels great. You know, I just feel like I haven’t been playing as well as I wanted to the last couple of months, and just really makes me more motivated for the rest of the season.”
